📍Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Depart from Arusha at 7:15 AM and head to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a game drive and picnic lunch by the river. Kids will love spotting giraffes, zebras, and playful monkeys. In the evening, head to your lodge near Karatu for dinner and overnight.

📍 Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Discover the tree-climbing lions, hippos, flamingos, and more in this diverse ecosystem. Children will enjoy the lush groundwater forest and birdlife. Take a short cultural visit to Mto wa Mbu village for a local experience before heading back to your lodge in Karatu.

📍 Day 3: Karatu – Serengeti National Park

Journey through the Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy game viewing en route and arrive in the central Serengeti for an afternoon drive. Witness vast plains filled with wildebeests, lions, and possibly cheetahs. Settle into your tented camp in the heart of the park for an authentic safari experience.

📍 Day 4: Full-Day Serengeti Game Drive

Explore the Serengeti with a full-day game drive, following the rhythm of wildlife activity. Keep an eye out for big cats, elephants, and if you’re lucky, a river crossing during migration season. Stop for a scenic picnic lunch and continue your exploration. Return to camp for a warm meal and storytelling by the fire.

📍 Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning game drive as you exit Serengeti. Travel through the conservation area with optional stops at a Maasai village or Olduvai Gorge Museum. Arrive at the Ngorongoro crater rim in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

📍 Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Karatu

Descend 600 meters into Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the Big Five. With its high concentration of wildlife in a small area, this is ideal for families. Enjoy picnic lunch by the hippo pool and ascend in the afternoon to return to your lodge in Karatu.

📍Day 7: Karatu – Arusha (Departure)

After a relaxed breakfast, begin your return journey to Arusha. Optional stop at a local market or cultural heritage center for souvenirs. Arrive in Arusha by late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable family safari. Drop-off at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport for onward travel.

2. What is the road condition between parks?

Road conditions vary across the parks. While main roads are paved, some sections within the parks are gravel or dirt and can get bumpy. However, our safari vehicles are specifically designed to handle rough terrain with comfort, featuring spacious seating, shock absorbers, and ample window space. We also space out driving hours for family comfort and provide frequent stops for rest and sightseeing.

3. Are family rooms available at the accommodations?

Yes, we carefully select lodges and tented camps offering family-sized rooms or interconnected suites. These accommodations are well-suited for parents traveling with children, providing extra beds or cots when needed. Many also feature pools, safe outdoor spaces, and special menus. You can rest assured your family will have a cozy and secure place to relax each evening after your adventures.

5. Will we see the Big Five?

There is a strong possibility of spotting all members of the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—especially in the Ngorongoro Crater. Serengeti also offers great chances of seeing big cats and other plains game. While sightings aren’t guaranteed due to the nature of the wild, your experienced guide will do their best to track animals and position your vehicle for great viewing.

6. Can we customize the itinerary?

Yes, this itinerary is completely flexible. Whether you want to shorten or extend the trip, add cultural visits, or swap a park, we’ll tailor it to suit your family’s preferences. You can even combine it with a beach vacation in Zanzibar or visit local schools or Maasai villages for a more enriching experience. Just let us know your ideas, and we’ll make it happen.

7. Is Wi-Fi or mobile signal available during safari?

Most lodges and tented camps provide Wi-Fi in common areas, though the speed may vary. Some remote parts of the Serengeti may have limited or no mobile signal. However, you’ll usually regain signal when near towns or park gates. Many families enjoy the digital detox during safari, allowing quality time together while staying in touch when needed through guides or lodge networks.
